Matthew Ternus

Matthew Ternus is a standup comedian who has performed throughout North Dakota, Minnesota, and beyond. His comedy has taken him from coffee houses and breweries to comedy clubs, theaters, and festivals, including the historic Empire Arts Center and the Orlando Comedy Festival. He has opened for comedians including Robert Baril and James Stanley and was a semifinalist in the 2026 Acme Comedy Company's Funniest Person Contest.

With additional improv experience through Nine & Numb and standup training through The Second City, Matthew brings a storytelling-driven style to the stage, finding humor in everything from relationships and growing up in the Midwest to the absurdities of everyday life.

Matthew was voted Platinum Winner for Entertainer in CommunityVotes-Grand Forks three consecutive years from 2024–2026. Whether audiences are laughing with him or at him, Matthew is usually happy either way.
